To know: Globalisation as an object of study in global studies and cultural studies. Ukrainian and foreign philosophers of culture and cultural studies of the twentieth and early twenty-first centuries on the challenges of globalisation. The current world cultural situation as a transitional era. To be able to: Explain the phenomenon of globalisation. Determine approaches to assessing modernisation, multiculturalism and cultural universalisation. Communication: Apply professional international terminology and foreign languages to study the problem of globalisation. Communicate in the international scientific community on issues of crisis and the future of culture. Autonomy and responsibility: To demonstrate creative capacity for professional self-development in the study of course topics, in particular for their use in teaching cultural studies courses.

Full-time form

1. Prior to studying this course, students should know the main stages and specifics of the national and world historical and cultural process; classical and modern cultural theories and research methods, including philosophy of culture, cultural anthropology and sociology of culture; basic cultural concepts and categories. 2) Be able to find and interpret information about cultural phenomena, processes and events from the prehistoric to postmodern era, apply the terms and categories of cultural disciplines in the analysis of socio-cultural phenomena and processes; identify trends in the coexistence of different types of cultures and predict the prospects for their development in the context of understanding the crisis and the future of culture in the context of its globalisation. 3. Have basic skills of scientific research and information management; forecasting of political, economic, cultural and artistic events and phenomena; use of foreign language professional cultural sources.

Lecture, seminar, self-study

The final grade in the course (minimum 60, maximum 100 points) is the sum of the points for semester work (minimum 48, maximum 80 points) and the final test (minimum 12, maximum 20 points). Assessment of semester work: 1. Self-study ( text synopsis) - 12 / 20 points 2. Self-study (research) - 18 / 30 points 3. Self-study - (essay) - 18 / 30 points The total grade during the study period consists of the points obtained for three types of Self-study work: a summary of primary source texts, a written research paper and an essay. All these types of work for the semester have - a maximum of 80 points - a minimum of 48 points Final written test - 12 / 20 points
