Learning outcomes
To know: Subject, object, methodological principles of the study of the phenomenon of religion. Features that allow us to define processes in religious life as "convergent". The place and role of religious organisations in solving pressing problems of our time. Be able to: Analyse the current religious situation in the world and in Ukraine against the background of global trends in religious life. To engage in dialogue and cooperation between believers and non-believers of different faiths as a means of achieving consensus and civil harmony in society. To search, systematise and interpret additional information necessary for the study of the course topics. Communication: To use knowledge of foreign languages to analyse online information resources and read the latest religious studies literature. Engage in debate on issues of contemporary religious life. Autonomy and responsibility: Independently search for and critically process literature on the issues of the course.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Before taking this course, students should know the features that allow to identify modern processes in religious life; have an understanding of the main features of the dogma and cult of world religions, their historical evolution and current state. Be able to collect and interpret information about cultural phenomena, and religious processes; apply basic terms and categories of religious studies in the analysis of worldview problems and socio-cultural phenomena and processes; operate with objective knowledge of the history of religion and cultural history. Possess philosophical categorical apparatus; skills of scientific research and information management; critical attitude and forecasting of socio-political, cultural and religious events and phenomena; use of foreign language professional cultural and religious information sources.

Assessment methods and criteria
Assessment of semester work: 1. Oral report, additions and participation in seminar discussions -18 / 30 points 2. Self-study No. 1 (a comprehensive analysis of transatlantic changes in modern religions) - 15 / 25 points Self-study No. 2 (comprehensive analysis of the attitude of representatives of different religions to a number of problems) -15 / 25 points 3. Control work - 12 / 20 points The total semester grade consists of the points obtained for 1) classroom work, 2) Self-study, 3) control work, taking into account the coefficient of 0.6. All types of work in the semester have a - a maximum of 100 points x 0.6 = 60 points - a minimum dimension 60 points x 0.6 = 36 points The final assessment is in the form of an exam. Exam in written form - 24 / 40 points
