Learning outcomes
To know the role of physics in the formation of the modern scientific picture of the world, its connections with other scientific directions
To know the general trends in modern physical science and prospective directions of research
Know the latest discoveries and advances in condensed state physics, cosmomicrophysics, plasma physics, nonlinear physics, etc.
Know modern methods of theoretical and phenomenological description of physical phenomena
To be able to apply the apparatus of quantum field theory for the theoretical description of phenomena in various branches of physics
Be able to perform analytical calculations and numerical simulations in order to reproduce the results published in the literature
Be able to prepare presentations and reports based on the results of scientific research published in the literature
To be able to formulate the main problems of modern physics and analyze different approaches to their solution

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Know the material of general and theoretical physics courses, the apparatus of quantum field theory and general relativity.
2. To be able to solve practical problems from various sections of general and theoretical physics, find information in the literature, report scientific results.
3. To have the skills of working with scientific literature, preparing presentations and reports on scientific topics, communicating with colleagues.

1 New materials, their properties, theoretical description, research methods
2 Modern achievements in plasma physics, prospects for the implementation of controlled thermonuclear fusion
3 Macroscopic quantum phenomena: superfluidity, superconductivity, Bose-Einstein condensation. Their research, practical application, prospects
4 Achievements and problems of modern nonlinear physics and synergetics
5 The theory of complex systems as a new scientific direction: object, methodology, current state
Module 2
6 Observation of gravitational waves: methods, current state, future experiments
7 Neutrino astronomy, cosmological neutrinos and prospects for their observation
8 Dark matter and dark energy in the universe: their manifestations and possible ways of explanation
9 The problem of measuring the Hubble parameter and the main hypotheses for its solution
10 Magnetic fields in the universe: origin, evolution, observation
11 The problem of hierarchy in the physics of elementary particles
12 Observation of anomalous muon magnetic moment and violation of lepton universality as possible indications of the existence of new physics
