Learning outcomes
To know: the concept of cultural studies; definitions of the concepts of philosophy and culture of the Postmodern; basic theories and approaches of cultural studies; the basis for the interaction of the subject fields of cultural studies and semiotics in the study of culture as a world of signs and meanings; socio-cultural meanings of art, religion, science. To be able to: demonstrate knowledge of specialised literature in cultural studies; apply the conceptual and categorical apparatus of theoretical cultural studies to the study of modern institutionalised forms of cultural existence; analyse the specifics of art as an integral part of the socio-cultural space; collect, process, organise, summarise, systematise socio-cultural information using modern methods of analysis and information technology. Communication: use knowledge of foreign languages to analyse informational resources; present the results of postmodern research and independent work.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Before taking this course, students should know: the main stages and characteristics of the historical and cultural process; basic cultural studies and methods of cultural research, including methods of cultural philosophy, cultural anthropology, sociology of culture; basic cultural concepts and categories; features and patterns of development of the history of national and foreign culture. 2. Be able to: collect and interpret information on cultural phenomena and phenomena, cultural processes and events; identify current trends in the coexistence of different cultures in the context of globalisation and intercultural dialogue; analyse works of art, identifying their belonging to a particular period, style, genre, form and content. 3. To have: basic skills of scientific research and information management; critical attitude and forecasting in relation to political, economic, cultural and artistic events and phenomena.
