Learning outcomes
2. To analyze, comment and summarize scientific and analytical texts of culturological format. 4. To know and understand theoretical approaches to definition of culture, its manifestations and forms of existence. 7. To understand the factors of cultural dynamics, the principles of periodization of cultural processes, their specific features and characteristics. 14. To conduct a public discussion and maintain a dialogue on Ukrainian culture with professionals and non-specialists.
Form of study
Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Before starting this course, students should know the main stages and specifics of the national and world historical and cultural process; classical and modern cultural theories and methods of research, in particular philosophies of culture, its main concepts and categories. 2. To be able to find and interpret information about cultural phenomena, processes and events from the era of primitiveness to the era of postmodernity, to apply the terms and categories of cultural sciences in the cultural-philosophical analysis of socio-cultural phenomena and processes. 3. Possess elementary skills of scientific research and information management; critical attitude towards and forecasting of political, cultural, artistic and other events and phenomena; the use of foreign-language professional cultural-philosophical and cultural sources.
