Learning outcomes
1. To have the skills of critical thinking, to present their own thoughts in a clear way, to make their arguments. 2. To analyze, comment and summarize scientific and analytical texts of culturological format. 5. To collect, organize and analyze information on cultural phenomena, events, historical and cultural processes. 8. To interpret cultural sources (material, printed, visual, artistic) using special literature and certain methods, tо reasonably present conclusions regarding their content.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Before starting this course, students should know the main stages and characteristics of the historical and cultural process; stages and specifics of the development of the artistic sphere; have basic knowledge of the courses "History of Philosophy", "Religious Studies", "Ethics", "Aesthetics", "History of World and Ukrainian Culture", "Culturology". 2. To be able to collect and interpret information about the phenomena and phenomena of culture, cultural processes and events; analyze the acquired theoretical knowledge; to navigate the main stages of cultural and historical transformations, the history of the formation of world cultures and their artistic and artistic specificity. 3. Possess elementary skills of scientific research and analysis of cultural information; the use of foreign language professional cultural information sources; analysis of various stages of formation of world cultures.

Symbol concepts in semiotics and structuralism The study of symbols in the context of psychoanalysis and depth psychology Problems of the symbol and artistic creativity in the theories of E. Panofskyi, J. Campbell, J. Geisinga, U. Eco, M. Eliade Symbol problems in the research of modern Ukrainian scientists Modern Ukrainian symbolism in painting and graphics Modern Ukrainian symbolism in sculpture and media works

Assessment methods and criteria
1. Oral presentation, additions and participation in discussions at seminars: RN 24 / 48 points 2. self-study (cultural study of symbols): 24 / 32 points Final control work in written form - 12 / 20 points Final assessment in the form of credit.
