1.Have the skills of critical thinking, to present their own ideas in an understandable way, to argue them 2. Analyze, comment, summarize, scientific and analytical texts of cultural nature 4. Know and understand theoretical approaches to defining culture, its manifestations and forms of existence 5. Collect, organize and analyze information on cultural phenomena, events and historical and cultural processes. 7. Understand the factors of cultural dynamics, the principles of periodization of cultural processes, their specific features and characteristics. 8. Interpret cultural sources (material, printed, visual, artistic) with the use of special literature and certain methods, reasoned inferences about their content

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Before studying this course, students must know the basic stages and characteristics of the historical and cultural process; basic culturological teachings and methods of culturological research, basic culturological concepts and categories; ideas about the diversity of cultural achievements and values. 2. Be able to collect and interpret information on cultural phenomena, cultural processes and events; identify current trends in the coexistence of different cultures in the context of globalization and intercultural dialogue, predict the prospects for their development, taking into account the peculiarities of cultural processes in the context of globalization; apply modern methods in the process of understanding artistic phenomena. 3. Have basic skills in research and information management; critical attitude and forecasting regarding political, economic, cultural and artistic events and phenomena; use of foreign language professional culturological information sources.
Course content
Part of the course 1. The place of culturology in the system of educational culture. The essence and meaning of culture. Typology of culture. Sociocultural dynamics. The language of culture. Part of the course 2. The human world as a culture. Art as a cultural phenomenon. Religion and science in the context of culture. Technology as a socio-cultural phenomenon. Culture and civilization.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral presentation, additions and participation in discussions at seminars: 21/35 points 2. Self-study №1 (abstract of primary sources): 10/20 points 3. Self-study №2 (presentation of independent research on the topics of the course): 20/30 points 4. Final test in writing - 9/15 points Final assessment in the form of an exam. Examination assessment is in writing. The ticket consists of 2 questions, each of which is evaluated on a scale of 20 whites, which gives a total of 40 points for the exam. A student is not allowed to take the exam if he / she scored less than 36 points during the semester. To obtain an overall positive grade in the discipline, the grade for the exam can not be less than 24 points.
