Prerequisites and co-requisites
To successfully complete the course, students must know: theoretical foundations of translation studies, the structure and functions of the Chinese language; be able to: carry out adequate and equivalent translation of texts of various styles and genres from Chinese into Ukrainian and vice versa, determine necessary and sufficient methods of translation and adequately translate units of different language levels.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The course provides for the following forms of training organization: practical classes and unsupervised work. The main types of work and, accordingly, the objects of semester control are: classwork (oral answers), individual analytical report, modular control work. A student can score a maximum of 100 points and a minimum of 60 points for performing the prescribed types of work (including the exam). In detail, the criteria for evaluating the types of works during the semester are presented in the work program of the discipline, published on the official website of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Philology.
Assessment methods and criteria
The overall grade is formed from the points received for work during the semester (maximum – 60 points, minimum – 36 points) and points of the final assessment in the form of an exam (maximum – 40 points, minimum – 24 points). The format of the exam is written, the ticket contains 3 practical tasks (translation of established expressions: from Chinese to Ukrainian - 25%, from Ukrainian to Chinese - 25%, translation of sentences - 50%). The first two tasks are evaluated at a maximum of 10 points, the third task - 20 points. The exam is conducted according to the Learning outcomes: LR 1.1, LR 1.2, LR 1.3; LR 1.4; LR 2.2; LR 2.3. The evaluation criteria are presented in detail in the work program of the discipline, published on the official website of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Philology.
