2. To analyze, comment and summarize scientific and analytical texts of culturological format. 15. To communicate freely on professional issues orally and in writing in the official and foreign languages, taking into account the purpose of communication and social and cultural features of its context.

Distance form

1. Before studying this course, students must have general information about the historical and cultural context of antiquity, a basic knowledge of the history of the ancient world, ancient Greek mythology and literature, the basics of grammatical terminology. 2. Students must be able to identify and disclose interlingual and intercultural relationships; analyze the phenomena of linguistic and cultural interference; interpret ancient and modern European culture. 3. Students must possess basic skills of morpheme, morphological and syntactic analysis of foreign language units and skills of lexical-etymological and historical-cultural analysis and commenting on sentences and texts.

Subject and tasks of studying the ancient Greek language in the aspect of culturology. The role and significance of the ancient Greek language in the European continuum. The emergence of Greek writing and the alphabet, the division of ancient Greek into dialects. Phonetics system and rules of emphasis. Name system and its grammatical categories. Nouns and adjectives of I-III cases. Pronoun system. Numeral system. Grammatical categories of verbs, vocabulary form, verb bases. Formation of the main times (present, futurum, perfect). Formation of historical times (imperfect, aorist, plusquamperfect). Substantivization. Basic information on the syntax of the ancient Greek language (simple sentence, case syntax, independent constructions, hypotaxis system). Vocabulary of the ancient Greek language. Greekisms in modern European languages. Various genres of ancient Greek literature in the cultural and historical context.

Practical training, presentations, self-study

1. Oral answer, additions and participation in discussions: 23/40 points 2. Рresentation on the culture of ancient Greece using ancient Greek concepts and terms: 10/20 points 3. Self-study (synopsis of sentence translations): 5/10 points 4. Self-study (preparation for the presentation): 5/10 points 5. Final test in writing - 12/20 points Final assessment in the form of credit: the final number of points in the course (maximum 100 points) is determined as the sum of points for systematic work during the semester, taking into account the final test. Credit is set based on the results of the student's work throughout the semester and does not provide for additional assessment activities.
