6. Identify, verify and summarize information about various contexts of cultural practice, determine the degree of their relevance using relevant sources, information, communication tools and visual technologies.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Before studying this course, students must know the basic stages and characteristics of the History of Ukraine and the World History, the main features and specific characteristic of Ukrainian and World culture, basic culturological theories and methods of research cultural phenomena and processes.
2. Students must be able to collect and analyze historical and cultural sources, information databases and a set of scientific information; apply the basic principles of research work on events and phenomena of historical and cultural content, use foreign language sources of museum studies.
3. Students must have basic skills of scientific analyses, interpretation and presentation of issues, correct application of scientific-categorical apparatus, systematization of facts and events of historical and cultural content, the ability to generalize and predict.
Course content
1: Museology as a scientific discipline
2. Formation of the museum as a socio-cultural institution. Museums and museum business in the Enlightenment (XVII-XVIII centuries)
3: The idea of a public museum and its implementation in the late XVIII- XIX centuries
4. The main world trends and directions of development of museology in the XX - early XXI century
5. History and current state of museum studies in Ukraine
6. The evolution of the legislative and regulatory framework of museums. National museum policy.
7. Museum source studies. Scientific acquisition and accounting of museum funds.
9. Modes and systems of storage of museum collections
8: Study, attribution and examination of objects of museum value
10. Restoration and conservation of historical and cultural monuments
11. Museum architecture. Scientific and exhibition work of the museum.
12: System of museum social communications
13. Management and marketing of museum business

Assessment methods and criteria
1. Control work on the topics of the unit 1 (test): 10 points/6 points.
2. Control work on the topics of unit 2 (test): 10 points/6 points.
3. Essay (creative work) on the topics of the part 1: 10 points/6 points.
4. Essay (creative work) on the topics of the part 2: 10 points/6 points.
5. Evaluation of work during seminars: 40 points/24 points.
The final work contains two tasks, each of which is evaluated in 10
points each.
