Prerequisites and co-requisites
Possess elementary skills of analysis and interpretation of scientific literature, know the theoretical foundations of the courses "History of World Culture", "History of Philosophy", "History of Mythology", "Ukrainian Literary Language", "Western European Language".
Course content
The discipline "Latin" consists of two content modules. The first covers the material related to the development of the ability to read correctly, mastering the rules of pronunciation and emphasis, acquiring the skills of working with a dictionary, mastering the technique of translating simple sentences. Grammatical material: nouns of the 1st-2nd declension, adjectives of the 1st-2nd declension, system of inflection of verbs, pronoun, preposition. The second covers the following grammatical material: nouns III, IV, V declensions, adjectives of the III declension, degrees of comparison of adjectives, numerals, perfect system. Acquisition of skills of translation of complex sentences, analysis of case syntax.

Assessment methods and criteria
The semester number of points is formed by the points received by the student in the process of learning the material from the entire educational course. The overall grade for the semester consists of points received for classroom work (which synthesizes and independent work on processing theoretical material for classroom preparation: oral answers, additions, quizzes, tests, defense of the presentation) and for independent work (preparation of the presentation). All types of work for the semester have as a result:  in the maximum dimension of 60 points,  at least 36 points. In case of absence from the seminar session, the student must complete the assignment for the seminar.
