5. To know and apply in professional activity the basic concepts, theories and methods of religious studies. 6. Characterize the main stages of the history of world religions, features of the historical typology of religious ideas. 7. Collect, analyze, systematize and interpret facts related to the development of religions and denominations, use them to solve complex tasks in specialized areas of professional activity. 8. Critically evaluate and analyze information from various sources on religious issues 10. Analyze the place of religious studies in the system of humanitarian knowledge and the social role of the religious scholar. 15. Have the skills to participate in scientific and/or applied research in the field of religious studies.

2. Requirements for choosing an academic discipline. 1. Before starting this course, students must meet the general requirements for knowledge and skills that are required for studying in higher education institutions. 2. To be able to collect and interpret information about religious phenomena, to justify one's own worldview regarding the importance of religion in life person, use information and communication technologies. 3. Possess elementary skills of scientific research and information management, critical attitude and forecasting regarding religious events and phenomenon; use of foreign language professional informative sources.
Course content
The discipline "Introduction to the specialty" is focused on the study of the subject, structure and history of religious studies, religious analysis of such issues as the role of religion in the life of society and an individual, the essence of religion as a phenomenon of spiritual culture, the history of various denominations and their mutual relations, the religious experience of one's own people and contemporary problems of religious life in Ukrainian society. Studying the course involves clarifying from the point of view of religious studies the issues of the origin and evolution of religions, their creeds, and worship based on theological, philosophical, and scientific concepts and approaches.

Assessment methods and criteria
Examination evaluation takes place in written form. The ticket consists of 2 questions, each of which is evaluated on a scale of 20 points, which gives a total of 40 points for the exam. A student is not admitted to the exam if he scored less than 20 points during the semester. To receive an overall positive grade in the discipline, the grade for the exam cannot be less than 24 points. In the event that a student scored less than 24 points on the exam, they are not added to the semester grade (regardless of the number of points obtained during the academic period). In the examination report, "0" is entered in the "exam/exam points" column, and only the number of points obtained during the semester is transferred to the "final grade in the discipline" column. Thus, the final grade for the discipline (minimum 60, maximum 100 points) consists of from the sum of the number of points per semester (minimum 36, maximum 60 points) and examination work (minimum 24, maximum 40 points).
