Learning outcomes
P06. Determine the main characteristics, processes, history and composition of the geographical envelope and its components. P08. Use field and laboratory methods to analyze natural and socio-geographic objects and systems. P10. Analyze the composition and structure of natural and socio-geographic objects and systems (according to specialization) at different spatio-temporal levels. P14. Demonstrate the ability to conduct independent research of natural and socio-geographical objects, systems and processes in the geographic envelope under field and laboratory conditions. P15. Know and explain changes in the geographical envelope from the standpoint of the concept of sustainable development.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1) successful mastering of such academic disciplines as "Soil Science", "Soil Research", "Soil Physics", "Soil Chemistry", "Soil Cover and Land Resources of the World", "Genesis and Morphology of Soils", "Methods of Soil Science Research"; 2) mastery of soil research methods; 3) the ability to read and interpret the results of soil science research.
Course content
The educational discipline consists of two content modules. The first of them is devoted to the study of the composition and properties of soil phases, physical and physico-chemical properties of soil. The second module reveals issues related to soil regimes and methods of their regulation, reclamation of zonal and azonal soils.
