To use principles, laws, regularities from the theory of national security in managerial activities. 2.8. Prerequisites and additional requirements Before starting the study of the discipline, students should know: theoretical principles of state administration and local self-government, the mission of the institute of local self-government in the context of ensuring the safety of life of a person (individual), society and state institutions; the main trends in the evolution of the specified institute in Ukraine.
Course content
Content of the educational program The educational discipline "National security" is included in the cycle of mandatory educational disciplines. The subject of study of the academic discipline is the systemic foundations of ensuring national security: the concept of national interests and the concept of "national security" as a characteristic of the development of society and the state, its types and components, the conditions for the formation and protection of national values of Ukraine and their connection with national interests, a component of the system national security and its "threshold" values, tasks and potential of the national security system). The discipline is also aimed at forming professional skills in identifying challenges, threats and risks to national security at the local level of management. The goal of the educational discipline is to form knowledge about the basic principles of national security, which will allow them to prevent and neutralize challenges and threats to the national interests of Ukraine within the limits of their professional competence in modern conditions of state formation.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for a two-level evaluation of the learned material (theoretical and practical training). - semester assessment (MAX – 60 points / MIN – 40 points): 1. Work at seminar classes 2. Two modular test papers in the form of a test with closed alternatives, as well as open questions. - final assessment: exam. The final control is carried out in the form of a written test, which is evaluated at a maximum of 40 points. The final grade is defined as the sum of grades (points) for all successfully assessed learning outcomes during the semester (grades below the minimum threshold level are not added to the final grade). The maximum number of points that can be received by a student is 100 points.
Assessment methods and criteria
Evaluation methods and criteria Lectures, seminars, independent work. Lectures take place in the classroom with the use of presentations and additional illustrative material. The seminars take place in classrooms, during the seminars the learning of the material takes place in the form of discussions (individual and group), discussions and analysis, game methods are used, and practical tasks are performed. The student's independent work consists in the systematic processing of materials proposed by the teacher. The learned material is subject to verification at seminar classes in the form of an oral survey. In addition, the results of independent processing of the material are checked during the writing of modular test papers. Missed classes are made up by the student completing additional tasks in the discipline.
