            Learning outcomes
        
        
            PLO 2. To have deep knowledge of the state and foreign languages for the written and oral communication purposes, professional and scientific communication in particular; to present research results in the state and foreign languages.
PLO 6. To apply knowledge of expressive, emotional and logical linguistic means, and speech techniques in order to achieve intended pragmatic results and establish successful communication.
PLO 10. To demonstrate in-depth knowledge of folklore studies, intercultural communication and the foreign language.
PLO12. Adhere to the rules of academic integrity. 
PLO14. To create, analyze and edit texts of various styles and genres in scientific folklore discourse.

            Prerequisites and co-requisites
        
        
            The student must successfully master the following subjects: “Communication Strategies of the Foreign Language”, and “Modern Cultural Expanse (Linguistic Profile)” and:
-	To know: basic linguistic terminology; linguistic analysis principles; semantics, structure and functioning of the English language units of all levels;
-	To be able to: apply linguistic tools in practice;
-	Have basic skills of sampling, analysing and interpretating speech facts; communicating on linguistic issues.
        
    
            Course content
        
        
            The purpose of the discipline is to assess deep professional command of a foreign language for professional communication and the English language teaching. The final exam is a comprehensive form of control and state certification of master programme graduates of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Philology of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University. Certification is carried out on the basis of the assessment of the professional knowledge level, graduates’ abilities and skills, which is provided for by the educational and qualification characteristics of specialists of the relevant field of training, specialty, and specialization. The final state exam in the English language consists of three stages, which are displayed in the corresponding tasks in the exam card.

            • the maximum point for the exam is 100 points,
• RH 1.1–4.1 are assessed.
• the exam consists of three tasks; 1) written annotation in English of an English-language linguistic text (4,000 characters); 2) an oral answer to a theory question; 3) an interview on the the master paper subject matter.

            Task 1. A written annotation - a maximum of 35 points
