PLO 2. To demonstrate an adequate level of mastery of national and foreign languages to perform written and spoken communication, namely in the situations of professional and academic communication; to present the results of their studies in these national and foreign languages. PLO 6. To use knowledge on expressive, emotive, logical language means and speech techniques in order to achieve an intended pragmatic result and organize successful communication. PLO 10. To collect and systematize facts of language and literature, to interpret and translate texts of various styles and genres (depending on the chosen specialization). PLO 14. To create, analyze, and edit texts of various genres and styles.

Distance form

The program is designed for students who have a B2 level of proficiency in the German language, acquire basic linguistic terms, principles of language analysis, and understand the specifics of semantics and the functioning of linguistic units at all levels. They should also have practical skills in oral and written communication in various communicative situations.

The aim of the instruction at this stage is the integrated and sequential development of all components of communicative competence, with a dominant role given to linguistic, pragmatic, and sociocultural competences. Further development is focused on academic (strategic) and professional communicative competence. Students enhance their skills in effectively using language stylistic devices in various domains and registers of language communication, including intercultural communication, at the level of a proficient user. This entails the ability to understand, interpret, and produce texts of different types and speech genres, while expressing oneself fluently, clearly, coherently, and comprehensively in complex situations. Students should appropriately utilize a variety of syntactic means and a wide range of grammatical structures. The course concludes with a pass/fail assessment in the first semester.
