Learning outcomes
PLO 1. Evaluate one's own educational and scientific and professional activities, build and implement an effective strategy of self-development and professional self-improvement. PLO 3. To apply modern methods and techniques, namely informational, in order to perform successful and effective professional activity and guarantee the quality of research in a specific linguistic field. PLO 11. Carry out a scientific analysis of language, speech and literary material, interpret and structure it taking into account appropriate methodological principles, formulate generalizations based on independently processed data. The overall theoretical preparation acquired within the framework of the bachelor's degree programs.
Course content
The aim of the discipline is to provide students with knowledge and skills that create the necessary organizational and legal foundation for conducting professional scientific research, presenting it to the scientific community, defending and commercializing intellectual property rights to its results. The discipline consists of three content modules. The module "Methodology of Scientific Research" develops an understanding of science as research and familiarizes students with the concrete scientific, general scientific, and philosophical levels of methodology. The module "Theoretical Foundations of Philological Research" provides students with knowledge of leading linguistic and/or literary directions and their development in domestic and international contexts, as well as an understanding of the diversity of methodological approaches in philology at the contemporary stage. The module "Fundamentals of Intellectual Property" reveals the role of intellectual property as intellectual capital in the socio-economic development of society and its place in the humanities.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Tasks performed during independent work; intermediate assessment - oral response, elaboration, participation in discussions in lectures and seminars, blitz surveys, tests; projects, presentations.
Assessment methods and criteria
The course includes three content modules (the first module is graded min. 24/max. 40 points, the second module is 18/30 points, the third module is 18/30 points). At the end of the first and third modules, module assessments are conducted (a total of 2) with theoretical and practical tasks covering knowledge of the methodological basis of scientific research (Module Assessment 1) and knowledge of civil law in the field of intellectual property (Module Assessment 3). Module Assessment 1 and Module Assessment 2 can be conducted in the form of tests. The final evaluation takes into account theoretical preparation (LO 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4) and practical preparation (LO 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4, 2.5, 3.1, 4.1). The final grade for the course (maximum of 100 points) is determined as the sum of points for systematic work throughout the semester, taking into account the module assessments. The final grade is based on the student's performance throughout the semester.
