Learning outcomes
PLO2. Confidently speak the state language, Turkish, a second Turkic language and English for written and oral communication, in particular in situations of professional and scientific communication; present the results of their research in the state, Turkish and English.
PLO6. To apply knowledge of expressive, emotional, logical means of language and speech techniques to achieve the planned pragmatic result and organize successful communication.
PLO14. Create, analyze and edit texts of different styles and genres.
PLO15. Choose the best research approaches and methods for analyzing a particular linguistic or literary material.
PLO19. Possess the necessary knowledge and skills to provide translation from Turkish into Ukrainian or English and vice versa at various stages of the judicial process, during conferences of various professional orientations and in other areas and industries.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
General scientific and theoretical training and professional competence acquired by students within the framework of the master's educational program in the following areas: theoretical foundations of philological knowledge in general linguistics and modern English (history of the English language, phonetics, lexicology, stylistics, grammar, communication theory, rhetoric, text and discourse theory); translation theory, basic methods of translation analysis, types of translation correspondences and lexical and grammatical translation techniques.
Course content
The purpose of the comprehensive final exam in English and translation is to test and evaluate the program learning outcomes that students have acquired in the course of studying general linguistics and modern English (history of the English language, phonetics, lexicology, stylistics, grammar, communication theory, rhetoric, text and discourse theory); translation theory, basic methods of translation analysis, types of translation correspondences and lexical and grammatical translation techniques.
The content of the program consists of topics, theoretical issues and practical tasks aimed at determining the level of linguistic, communicative and translation competencies of the masters. The comprehensive final exam consists of three content blocks:
1) theory of language, text and communication;
2) theory and practice of translation;
3) oral English communication within a predefined topic.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The exam is a comprehensive written and oral test and is conducted in English. Students may use monolingual dictionaries during the exam. The time for completing the written task is 60 minutes (rhetorical analysis of the text, translation of a fragment of the text into Ukrainian and a translation commentary). The exam paper contains 3 questions. The first question involves working with original texts of up to 350 words in length in order to perform rhetorical analysis of the text and linguistic analysis of the proposed linguistic phenomena. The second question involves translating a fragment of the text and performing a translation analysis of your own translation. The third question is an oral interview (without prior preparation) within the framework of the predefined topics of the courses "Communication Strategies", "General Theoretical English", "Academic and Business Speaking and Translation".
Assessment methods and criteria
Formation of the exam score. The level of master's training at the exam is assessed by a 100-point system: a graduate can score a maximum of 100 points and a minimum positive score of 60 points. The score for the comprehensive final exam is formed by calculating the arithmetic mean score for all three answers of the exam paper multiplied by 10 (coefficient). The time for completing the written task is 60 minutes (rhetorical analysis of the text, linguistic analysis of the linguistic phenomena of the text). An oral interview on the proposed topic is conducted without prior preparation of the student. The exam paper contains three questions:
1. Theoretical question.
2. Rhetorical analysis of the text №1.
3. Translation of a fragment of the text №1.
