Learning outcomes
PLO 2. Confidently speak the state language, Turkish, a second Turkic language and English for written and oral communication, in particular in situations of professional and scientific communication; present the results of their research in the state, Turkish and English languages РLO 7. Analyse, compare and classify different trends and schools in Turkish and Turkic linguistics. PLO 8. Evaluate the historical achievements and latest developments in the field of Turkology. PLO 9. Describe the theoretical foundations (concepts, categories, principles, basic concepts, etc.) and applied aspects of Turkish philology. PLO 15. To choose the best research approaches and methods for analysing specific linguistic or literary material.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Prior to taking this course, students must have successfully mastered the professional disciplines during their studies in previous courses, such as Linguistics, History of the Turkish Language, Introduction to Oriental Philology, etc. and have basic factual knowledge of the humanities. To know the basics of linguistics, oriental philology and history of the Turkish language; Possess basic skills of cognitive and professional activity, culture of thinking, its general laws; scientific research and information management; critical attitude to the analysed phenomena; use of foreign language professional informative sources; interaction and cooperation in learning in search situations.
Course content
The purpose of the discipline and objectives (learning objectives): to acquaint students with the theoretical provisions of the discipline, with the most famous scientists in the field of Turkish linguistics and their works, to consider the current state and current trends in linguistic research in the field of Turkology; to develop students' cognitive interests, the desire to improve their professional competence. The discipline "Modern Turkish Linguistics" is included in the list of compulsory disciplines and is taught in the first semester of the master's degree programme in accordance with the curriculum of the educational and scientific programme "Oriental Philology, Western European Language and Translation: Turkish Language and Literature. The discipline is theoretical and practical in nature and contributes to the practical development of future Turkologists' experience and knowledge necessary for their future professional activities. The discipline examines the ways of formation of modern Turkic science in Turkish and foreign linguistics, its goals and objectives; theoretical postulates, concepts, category and conceptual apparatus of leading Turkic schools; analyses the main works on Turkish linguistics.

Oral answer at a practical lesson, supplementary notes, participation in discussions at lectures and practical classes, blitz surveys, tests, report, presentation.
Assessment methods and criteria
Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for a two-level assessment of the material learned, in particular, assessment of theoretical training - learning outcomes (knowledge), which accounts for 40% of the total grade, and assessment of practical training - learning outcomes (skills); (communication); (autonomy and responsibility), which accounts for 60% of the total grade. Assessment of semester work: 1. Control work: 8 - 15 points. 2. Presentation: 5 - 7 points. 3. Performing an individual task: 4 - 6 points. 4. Oral survey: 7 - 12 points. 5. Final control work: 12 - 20 points. 6. Exam: 24 - 40 points.
