Learning outcomes
PLO 2. Confidently speak the state and English languages for written and oral communication, in particular in situations of professional and scientific communication; present research results in the state and English languages. PLO 5. To find the best ways of effective interaction in a professional team and with representatives of other professional groups of different levels. PLO 10. Collect and systematize linguistic, literary, folklore facts, interpret and translate texts of different styles and genres into Crimean Tatar, English and Turkish. PLO 12. To adhere to academic integrity.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Know: - functional styles and genres of English speech; - the basics of speech genres in academic and business discourse; - peculiarities of the use of language in English academic and business speech. Be able to: - decode the speaker's intentions by analyzing communication strategies in oral and written speech; - analyze, compare, contrast language and speech phenomena at the sentence, paragraph and text levels. Possess elementary skills: - recognize communication strategies and correlate them with the communicative purpose of the text.
Course content
Aims of the discipline: to improve students' socio-cultural, linguistic and translation competencies and increase the effectiveness of academic and business communication in English by familiarizing students with the peculiarities of academic and business discourses, systematizing knowledge of linguistic means and rhetorical strategies of the English language in these discourses, developing students' skills in using linguistic means and rhetorical strategies in various situations of academic, intercultural and business communication, improving their skills in translating texts of academic and business discourses into English.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Practical exercises: round table, role-playing games; independent work, problem-based learning, report, project work, discussion, presentation of one's own position/ point of view, discussion.
Assessment methods and criteria
Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for a two-level assessment of the material learned, in particular, the assessment of theoretical training - learning outcomes (knowledge), which accounts for 40% of the total grade, and the assessment of practical training - learning outcomes (skills), which accounts for 60% of the total grade. Assessment of semester work: 1. Participation in the discussion of the topics studied: 5 - 10 points. 2. Project work: 7 - 10 points. 3. Academic essay (integrated reading and writing skills): 6 - 10 points. 4. Academic essay (integrated listening and writing skills): 6 - 10 points. 5. Module test: 12 - 20 points.
