PLO (Program learning outcomes) 1. To evaluate one's own educational, scientific and professional activities, to build and to implement an effective strategy of self-development and professional self-improvement. PRL 3. To apply the new methods and (information) technologies in order to perform the successful and effective professional activity and provide the quality of the research in specific philological area. PLO 9. To characterize the theoretical background (concepts, categories, principles, basic concepts, etc.) and applied aspects of the chosen philological specialization. PRL 13. To explain the main points of the specific philological issues in a clear way, to express the personal point of view and give the arguments for it to the academic community, to the public and the students as well.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
The successful knowledge of classical languages implies the use of methods and methodical means, the forms of studies organization of classical languages, the knowledge of psychological and pedagogical basics. The students must know the following disciplines: “Pedagogics of the higher school and pedagogical skills of the university teacher”, “Psychology of the higher school”.
Course content
Objectives of the discipline – formation of students' methodological competence which is knowledge, skills, abilities to plan, organize, implement, reflect on the process of teaching classical languages at universities, control and evaluate students' learning achievements. Annotation: Methods of teaching classical languages at universities is a fundamental discipline, which is an integral part of the training of specialists at Master’s degree, specialty 035 "Philology (035.08 Classical Languages and Literature (translation)" for the future professional activity, and is designed to ensure the formation of methodological competence - knowledge, skills, abilities to plan, organize, implement, reflect on the process of teaching classical languages at universities, control and evaluate students' learning achievements. The methodology of teaching classical languages at universities contributes to the formation of the ability to use technologies, approaches, methods, principles, means of teaching classical languages at universities, the ability to apply the native and and world experience in teaching classical languages at universities, the ability to monitor and correct the knowledge, skills and abilities of students in classical languages at universities, the ability to solve problems related to the process of teaching classical languages in secondary schools; adapt to changes in the educational sphere.

Practical lessons, seminars, lectures, projects planning.
Assessment methods and criteria
Final assessment: exam. The total score for the semester comprises the student’s points for different activities during the course. The total score for the semester consists of student’s points for class activities, independent work and work at projects. - activities during the practical class (LR 1.1-1.4; LR 2.1-2.4; LR 3.1-3.3, LR 4.1-4.3), - writing the MCT (LR 1.1-1.4; LR 2.1-2.4; LR 3.1-3.3, LR 4.1-4.3.), - individual projects : LR 1.1-1.4; LR 2.1-2.4; LR 3.1-3.3, LR 4.1-4.3. All types of activities for the semester are estimated as follows: ● 100 points maximum, ● 60 points minimum. Exam: LR 1.1-1.5; LR 2.1-2.4, LR4.1-4.3.
