Learning outcomes
PRN2. Confidently possess the state and foreign (Belarusian, English, Czech/Croatian) languages for the implementation of written and oral communication, in particular in situations of professional and scientific communication; present research results in national and foreign languages.
PRN5. To find optimal ways of effective interaction in the Slavic professional team and with representatives of other professional groups of various levels.
PRN6. Apply knowledge of expressive, emotional, logical means of the Belarusian, Ukrainian, English languages and speech technique to achieve the planned pragmatic result and organize successful communication.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1.To know: the main stages of the history of the Belarusian language, trends and current tasks of Belarusian linguistics as a linguistic field, the problems of the works of outstanding Belarusian philologists, the basics of functional stylistics in the light of the norms of the modern Belarusian literary language.
2. Be able to: carry out stylistic analysis (according to different types of stylistic theories); to navigate the means of style creation, to determine the functional relevance of specific units of the Belarusian text, to operate according to the stylistic norms of the modern Belarusian literary language, to correct errors in various functional styles of the Belarusian language.
3. Possess elementary skills: scientific research and information management; critical attitude to the analyzed phenomena; use of foreign language professional informative sources and other.
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to study the theoretical foundations and communicative capabilities of the modern Belarusian literary language, issues of its codification and standardization, current problems related to the functioning of the language in society; formation of professional competences of future Slavists capable of solving complex specialized tasks, conducting analytical research and developing language policy strategies. The discipline belongs to the scientific-research component, aimed at mastering the culture of language and speech, deepening knowledge of general and practical stylistics, forming skills in linguistic and stylistic analysis of texts, practical use of language material in accordance with the conditions and target guidelines of a specialist in various spheres of communicative, professional and scientific research activity. The discipline consists of two modules. The discipline ends with an exam.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lectures and practical classes, guidance of independent work and monitoring of its implementation, individual consultations, examination.
Assessment methods and criteria
After the lectures on the relevant topics, practical classes are held, at which evaluation is carried out in accordance with the planned types of work and forms of control: oral report/ presentation/ compilation of the bibliography on the topic (max. 6 points), essay/ written analytical work (max. 10 points), modular control work (max. 5b.), additions, participation in the discussion (max. 4b.). Students who scored a total of less points in two modules than the critical calculation minimum - 37 points are not allowed to take the exam. The semester final grade is formed by the points received by the student in the process of performing the declared types of work and the points received on the exam, the maximum distribution is carried out according to the following algorithm: 60 points (60%) - semester control and 40 points (40%) - exam).
