PLO 3. To implement modern methods and techniques, namely informational, in order to perform a successful and effective professional activity and guarantee the quality of research in an applied linguistics field. PLO 6. To use knowledge of expressive, emotional, logical means and speech techniques in order to achieve an intended pragmatic result and organize a successful communication. PLO 9. To characterize theoretical (concepts, categories, principles, basic concepts, etc.) principles and practical aspects of a specific Translation specialization. PLO 11. To perform a scholarly analysis of linguistic, speech, and literary material, interpret and structure it considering expedient methodological principles, and formulate summarizations based on the individually processed data. PLO 15. To choose the optimal research approaches and methods of analysis for the specific linguistic and literary material.

Full-time form

1. Successful completion of Part 1 Communicative and semantic syntax in the complex multi-semester discipline Linguopragmatics of language communication, as well as the complex discipline Topical Issues of Linguistics; 2. Knowledge of the theoretical basics of general linguistics; phonetics, grammar, semasiology, stylistics of the Ukrainian language; structural linguistics; linguistic textual examination; communicative and semantic syntax; 3. Proficiency in methods of linguistic analysis of language units, linguistic text examination, and techniques of formal modeling of linguistic phenomena.

The discipline Discourse Analysis and Linguistics of the Text is Part 2 of the complex discipline Linguopragmatics of Language Communication (EC 5, 8 credits) - a component of the educational and research program “Applied Linguistics (Translation, Editing, and Expert Linguistic Analysis)” for the master's degree (program subject area 035 "Philology", specialization 035.10 "Applied Linguistics"). Part 2 aims to systematize the knowledge of master's students acquired in the course of studying the previous sections of language science, especially the course Discourse Analysis and Linguistics of the Text, and to supplement it with the basic concepts, terminology, theoretical and methodological foundations of discourse analysis; to consider the stages of development and principles of the leading trends of discourse analysis and, in this context, to characterize the concepts of discourse, text, utterance, speech act, speech genre, to outline the criteria for classifying types and genres of texts/discourses, to deepen the skills of complex linguistic analysis of text/discourse, to represent the main methods of discourse analysis.

Types of educational activities: lectures, seminars, independent learning.

Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for a two-level assessment of the material learned, including assessment of theoretical training learning outcomes (knowledge 1.1, 1.2), which is 40% of the total grade, and assessment of practical training - learning outcomes (skills 2.1, 2.2); (communication 3.1, 3.2); (autonomy and responsibility 4.1 - 4.3), which is 60% of the total grade. The final assessment takes the form of a comprehensive exam: The exam assesses the following learning outcomes: PLO 1.1, 1.2; 2.1, 2.3; 4.2, 4.3. The maximum number of points in the exam is 40 points, and the minimum number of points (positive grade), which are added to the semester - is 24 points (60% of the maximum number of points allocated for the exam); The exam is conducted in the form of a written work; the exam paper consists of two tasks: 1 theoretical question with an open answer (10 points); 30 test tasks (30 points).
