PLO 2. Analyze textual and visual sources of information on cultural phenomena and processes, verify information in accordance with professional tasks. PLO 3. Analyze cultural rights and freedoms, forms and mechanisms of their identification, inculturation, cultural adaptation, taking into account regional specifics. PLO 15.1. To carry out comparative analysis of ethno-cultural texts, using the search tools developed by world comparative studies. PLO 17.1. Knowledge of the anthropological and cognitive aspects of the study of contemporary urban culture, subcultures, ethnocultural origins and structural models in the Internet verbal and multimedia culture. PLO 18.1. To review, comment, annotate, edit and create original texts (scientific, popular science, journalistic, fiction) on cultural issues.

Prior to taking this course, students should - know basic cultural categories, techniques of analyzing ethnocultural texts; - be able to conduct independent field research, use various sources of information, analyze and interpret information on the phenomenon of subculture; identify cultural models and everyday rituals of different cultural spaces; - have basic skills of scientific research and information management; critical attitude to the analyzed phenomena; use of foreign language professional informative sources; work with verbal and non-verbal cultural texts; perform multilevel tasks; interaction and cooperation in learning in search situations.

The purpose of the discipline is to promote the formation of a holistic vision of cultural processes and a system of knowledge about the essence, qualitative characteristics, forms and main trends in the development of the phenomenon of subculture; mastering the conceptual and categorical apparatus that reflects the main theoretical provisions of the concept of subculture in modern cultural discourse; the ability to identify and analyze key trends in the formation of modern subcultures in order to develop the necessary professional competencies of students. Annotation. The course "Contemporary Subcultures" belongs to the list of disciplines of the student's free choice of the block of disciplines "Comparative Cultural Anthropology" and is taught in the third semester of the master's program - in accordance with the curriculum of the educational and scientific program "Cultural Anthropology with professional study of a foreign language". Its subject is the study of the phenomenon of subculture as an expression of internal differentiation of culture. The discipline is aimed at understanding the need and necessity for cultural differentiation and self-determination of people as members of certain social groups, each of which has specific characteristics.

The course includes 2 content parts. The first part of the course is theoretical and focuses on the genesis of subcultures in Ukraine and the world, the criteria for distinguishing them, and the main characteristics of subcultures. The second part of the course is practical and research-oriented, focusing on the types and characteristics of contemporary subcultures. Classes are held in the form of lectures, seminars, and interactive teaching methods. The course is structured in such a way that some topics are covered in lectures, students work on the relevant material independently, and some topics are covered only in seminars and independently. During seminars, students are assessed in accordance with the types of work and the form of control described in paragraph 7.1. Students submit and defend presentations no later than the last lecture week.

The final number of points in the discipline (maximum 100 points) is determined as the sum of points for systematic work during the semester, taking into account the final assessment (exam). Admission to the exam implies that the student has successfully completed the assignments and worked throughout the semester. Therefore, the final grade in the discipline (minimum 60, maximum 100 points) consists of the sum of the number of points for semester work (minimum 36, maximum 60 points) and the final assessment - the exam (minimum 24, maximum 40 points).
