Learning outcomes
PLO 1. To understand the specifics and peculiarities of the implementation of cultural ideas, images and meanings, as well as to critically evaluate the possibilities of their interpretation to solve socially significant problems.
PLO 2. Analyze textual and visual sources of information on cultural phenomena and processes, verify information in accordance with professional tasks.
PLO 15.1. Carry out a comparative analysis of ethnocultural texts, using the search tools developed by world comparativistics.
PLO 18.1. Review, comment, annotate, edit and create original texts (scientific, popular science, journalistic, artistic) on cultural issues.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Before starting the study of this course, students should know the basic system of theoretical concepts about the analysis and understanding of the causes, conditions and consequences of the formation of a mythological worldview and mythological plots, the main theories of the myth, possess basic factual knowledge of a humanitarian nature.
To be able to analyze primary sources; to identify the elements of mythological systems, to apply the cultural, scientific and philosophical methodology of comparative analysis, to distinguish the distinctive and universal features of the mythological systems of different peoples of the world, to apply the basic concepts in the analysis of world myths; plan and evaluate own work; use interactive and multimedia tools.
Possess elementary skills of scientific research and information management; critical attitude to the analyzed phenomena; works with the texts of myths.
Course content
The subject of the course is the study of myth-making of different peoples of the world in synchrony and diachrony. The discipline is aimed at understanding the universal and distinctive features of the mythological systems of various peoples of the world; gives an idea of the typology of myth and mythologist, mythogenesis and modern myth-making in the world ethnocultural space; forms skills of analysis of mythological phenomena of archaic cultures and modern times.

Assessment methods and criteria
The overall grade for the semester consists of points received for classroom work (which synthesizes and independent work on processing theoretical material for classroom preparation: oral answers, additions, participation in the discussion, tests, defense of the presentation) and for independent work (preparation of the presentation). All types of work for the semester have as a result:
- in the maximum measure of 60 points,
- a minimum of 36 points.
In case of absence from the seminar session, the student must complete the assignment for the seminar.
Final assessment:
Written exam - 24/40 points.
