Learning outcomes
PLO 1. To understand the specifics and peculiarities of the implementation of cultural ideas, images and meanings, as well as to critically evaluate the possibilities of their interpretation to solve socially significant problems. PLO 2. Analyze textual and visual sources of information on cultural phenomena and processes, verify information in accordance with professional tasks. PLO 15.1. Carry out a comparative analysis of ethnocultural texts, using the search tools developed by world comparativistics. PLO 16.1. Able to apply the methodology of intertextuality and modern reconstructive techniques both in the field of cultural anthropology and in an interdisciplinary aspect. PLO 18.1. Review, comment, annotate, edit and create original texts (scientific, popular science, journalistic, artistic) on cultural issues.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
- Before starting this course, students should know the main characteristics of traditional folk culture, possess basic factual knowledge of a humanitarian nature. - To be able to collect and interpret information about the phenomena and phenomena of traditional culture, its artifacts; distinguish distinctive and universal (cross-cultural) features of national culture, apply basic concepts in the analysis of ethnocultural phenomena and processes; plan and evaluate own work; use interactive and multimedia tools. - Possess elementary skills of scientific research and information management; critical attitude to the analyzed phenomena; use of foreign language professional informative sources; works with cultural texts; production of complex oral and written messages; interaction and cooperation in learning in exploratory situations.
Course content
The subject of the course is the study of unity and diversity of ethno-cultural traditions of different peoples of the world in synchrony and diachrony. The discipline is aimed at understanding the universal and distinctive features of various national traditional cultures; gives an idea of the forms of traditional cultural practices and multifaceted national cultural phenomena, the genesis and current state of the world ethno-cultural space; forms the skills of analysis of the traditional folk cultural heritage and the modern cultural situation.

Methods: lectures, seminar classes, independent work, consultation Activities: oral response; addition, participation in the discussion; blitz survey; tests; presentation protection; performance of individual work (presentation preparation)
Assessment methods and criteria
The semester number of points is formed by the points received by the student in the process of learning the material from the entire educational course. The overall grade for the semester consists of points received for classroom work (which synthesizes and independent work on processing theoretical material for classroom preparation: oral answers, additions, blitz surveys, tests, presentation defense) and for independent work (presentation preparation). All types of work for the semester have as a result: - in the maximum measure of 60 points, - a minimum of 36 points. In case of absence from the seminar session, the student must complete the assignment for the seminar. Final assessment: Written exam - 24/40 points.
