Learning outcomes
PLO 3. To apply modern methods and techniques, namely informational, in order to perform successful and effective professional activity and guarantee the quality of research in a specific linguistic field. PLO 6. To use knowledge on expressive, emotive, logical language means and speech techniques in order to achieve an intended pragmatic result and organize successful communication. PLO 7. To analyze, compare and classify various schools and approaches in Linguistic Studies. PLO 8. To assess the historical legacy and new achievements of Literature Studies. PLO 13. To explain the essence of both specific linguistic issues and one’s own point of view and its justification to experts and laypeople in an accessible and argumentative manner, in particular to individuals who are studying. PLO 18. To present the results of one’s research to the academic community in academic publications or presentations at conferences, round tables, seminars, etc.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
The educational discipline can be successfully mastered after studying the courses "Communicative strategies", "Stylistics" and "Rhetoric", which it is a certain continuation of. The student must know the basics of the theory of style, have concepts about semantic categories, discursive markers, connotation, cognitive metaphor, genre, architecture and composition of the text, text categories, argumentation and types of arguments. In addition, the student must be able to apply linguistic and stylistic tools in practice, apply linguistic, discursive, and stylistic competence in practice.
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to form students' knowledge, skills and practical skills in written and oral communication, as well as understanding texts in the academic field. During studies and in further professional activities, the master's student often has to familiarize himself with publications, educational materials, instructions and other reference sources in Italian, as well as to create texts of such genres as an article, an abstract, a message, a report, etc. The classes generalize the typical features of the academic Italian-language discourse, consolidate in practice the most typical types of oral and written academic speech: a report and participation in its discussion, posing discussion questions, writing an article with a special emphasis on graphic, lexical-semantic, grammatical-syntactic, phraseological, stylistic , pragmatic and intertextual levels. Classes are held in Italian.

Educational activities during the semester: oral answers, additions, participation in discussions at seminars, blitz surveys; individual written assignment on the processing of academic texts; written summary of scientific research; oral presentation of a summary of scientific research; test.
Assessment methods and criteria
Semester assessment: • the maximum number of points during the semester is 100 points, in particular, • oral answers, additions, participation in discussions at seminars, blitz-surveys (RN1.1-1.3, 2.1-2.2, 3.1) - max. 15 points; individual written task on processing academic texts (RN1.1-1.3, 2.1-2.2, 3.1) - max. 30 points; written summary of scientific research PH1.1-1.3, 2.1-2.4, 3.1-3.2, 4.1 - max. 15 points; oral presentation of a summary of scientific research (RN1.1-1.3, 2.1-2.3, 3.1-3.2) - max. 15 points; test (PH1.1-1.3, 2.2, 3.1) - max. 25 points.
