Learning outcomes
PLO 10. Collect and systematize linguistic and literary facts, interpret and translate texts of different styles and genres. PLO 14. Create, analyze and edit texts of different styles and genres. PLO 22. Know the types, genres and compositional structure of texts of different functional styles, as well as the principles, methods and models of their translation and literary editing. PLO 24.1. Apply translation skills related to translation and editing, use a variety of translation resources, translation automation and information processing tools. PLO 25.1. Proficiency in professional languages of Italian, English and Ukrainian (law, technology, economics, media, translated computer lexicography and terminology, etc.) and background knowledge of subject areas.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful completion of the course requires knowledge of the Italian language at the B2/C1 level; the ability to perform translation analysis of the text; having basic skills of writing and editing texts in a foreign language; as well as knowledge of theoretical foundations of translation studies, stylistics of the Italian language, functional stylistics of the Ukrainian language, general principles of text editing.
Course content
The goal of the discipline is the development of skills and abilities necessary for the translation of texts of various genres from the Ukrainian language into Italian. The course focuses on issues of genre and style, but is not limited to them, including consideration of grammatical, lexical and pragmatic problems of translation from Ukrainian to Italian.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Planned educational activities: contrastive analysis of original texts in two languages to reveal their genre and stylistic features, study of special literature on the topic; written translation of texts and a translation scholarly commentary on it, translation scholarly analysis of parallel texts of Ukrainian-language originals and their Italian translations, translation editing, performing exercises to develop skills for overcoming specific translation difficulties. Teaching methods: general methods of conducting practical classes, tasks for independent work.
Assessment methods and criteria
During the semester, the assessment is carried out in accordance with the types of work and the form of control described in paragraph 7.1 of the syllabus. Distribution of points by type of work: oral answer (min. 1.2 - max. 2), report-analysis of literature on the subject of the course (min. 1.2 - max. 2), written assignments (min. 1.8 - max. 3), control written translation of the text (min. 12 - max. 20). The grade is based on the results of the student's work throughout the semester and does not include additional assessment measures. Students who score a minimum positive number of points (min. 60 - max. 100) receive a "pass" grade. Students who do not score the minimum positive number of points (0-59) receive a "fail" grade. Students who have scored 0-59 points in a semester must complete the written tasks for which they have a debt (at least 60% of the amount of tasks for the semester) and/or write a test translation in order to pass the test.
