Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful completion of the courses "Methodology of teaching translation in higher education", "Methodology of teaching Eastern languages in higher education". Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of approaches, principles, methods of teaching English in higher education; forms of organization of English training in higher education institutions; features of specialized and differentiated education of English in higher education institutions; methodological principles of formation of linguistic, speech, linguistic, sociocultural, strategic, discursive competences. The ability to develop plans-summaries and conduct lectures, practical, seminar classes on English in higher education institutions; to implement the latest technologies of teaching English in higher education institutions; adhere to the approaches and principles of teaching English in higher education, choose and use optimal methods and methodical techniques for teaching English in higher education institutions etc.
Course content
The goal of the educational discipline is to form students' methodological competence - knowledge, skills, ability and readiness to plan, organize, implement, reflect on the process of learning English in higher education, monitor and evaluate students' educational achievements. The method of teaching English in higher education institution is a mandatory discipline, which is a component of the training of specialists at the educational and qualification level "Bachelor", field of knowledge 03 "Humanities", specialty 035 "Philology (035.065 Philology (Oriental languages and literatures (translation included), the first language is Chinese)" of the educational program "Oriental philology, Western European language and translation: Chinese language and literature". The discipline is designed to ensure the formation of methodological competence.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for a two-level assessment of the learned material, in particular, the assessment of theoretical training - learning outcomes (knowledge 1.1 - 1.4), which makes up 40% of the total assessment, and the assessment of practical training - learning outcomes (skills 2.1-2.3); (communication 3.1); (autonomy and responsibility 4.1-4.2), which is 60% of the total grade. Evaluation of the semester work is carried out in the following forms: oral response at the seminar class, additions, participation in the discussion, control work with open answers, preparation and defense of the presentation.
Assessment methods and criteria
The semester number of points is formed by the points received by the student in the process of learning the material from the entire educational course. The overall grade for the semester consists of points received for classroom work (which includes the unsupervised work as well on processing theoretical material for classroom preparation: oral answers, additions, tests, presentation defense) and for independent work (presentation preparation). All types of work for the semester have as a result:In case of the mid-term control:- in the maximum dimension of 100 points,In case of the exam:The final number of points for the discipline (maximum 100 points) is defined as the sum of points for systematic work during the semester, taking into account the final assessment (exam (minimum 24, maximum 40 points).In case of absence from the seminar session, the student must complete the assignment for the seminar.
