Learning outcomes
PLO 10. Collect and systematize linguistic and literary facts, interpret and translate texts of different styles and genres. PLO 14. Create, analyze and edit texts of different styles and genres. PLO 22. Know the types, genres and compositional structure of texts of different functional styles, as well as the principles, methods and models of their translation and literary editing. PLO 24.1. Apply translation skills related to translation and editing, use a variety of translation resources, translation automation and information processing tools. PLO 25.1. Proficiency in professional languages of Spanish, English and Ukrainian (law, technology, economics, media, translated computer lexicography and terminology, etc.) and background knowledge of subject areas.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful completion of the course requires a deep knowledge of the Ukrainian language, sufficient to distinguish subtle nuances and shades of meaning of language and speech units; proficiency in Spanish at the B2/C1 level; ability to conduct translation analysis; basic skills in writing and editing texts in a foreign language; as well as knowledge of the theoretical foundations of translation studies, Spanish stylistics, functional stylistics of the Ukrainian language, and general principles of text editing.
Course content
The aim of the discipline is to develop the skills and abilities necessary for the translation of texts of various genres in the A-B direction in accordance with the current requirements of the translation market in Ukraine. It belongs to the elective components of the educational and scientific program in the selective block 1 "Translation and editing in professional communication (Spanish, English)". The course is focused on issues of genre and style, but is not limited to them, including grammatical, lexical and pragmatic problems of translation from Ukrainian into Spanish. It is a multi-semester course that ends with a test.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Planned learning activities: contrastive analysis of original texts in two languages to identify their genre and style features, study of specialized literature on the topic; written translation of texts and translation commentary on it, translation analysis of parallel texts of Ukrainian originals and their translations into Spanish, editing of translations, exercises to develop skills to overcome specific translation difficulties.
Teaching methods: general methods of conducting practical classes, assignments for independent work.
Assessment methods and criteria
During the semester, the assessment is carried out in accordance with the types of work and the form of control described in paragraph 7.1 of the syllabus. Distribution of points by type of work: oral answer (min. 1.2 - max. 2), report-analysis of literature on the subject of the course (min. 1.2 - max. 2), written assignments (min. 1.8 - max. 3), control written translation of the text (min. 12 - max. 20). The grade is based on the results of the student's work throughout the semester and does not include additional assessment measures. Students who score a minimum positive number of points (min. 60 - max. 100) receive a "pass" grade. Students who do not score the minimum positive number of points (0-59) receive a "fail" grade. Students who have scored 0-59 points in a semester must complete the written tasks for which they have a debt (at least 60% of the amount of tasks for the semester) and/or write a test translation in order to pass the test.
