Learning outcomes
PLO 11. Carry out a scientific analysis of language, speech and literary material, interpret and structure it taking into account appropriate methodological principles, formulate generalizations based on independently processed data. PLO 14. Create, analyze and edit texts of various styles and genres. PLO 16. Use specialized conceptual knowledge in translation studies to solve complex tasks and problems that require updating and integration of knowledge, often in conditions of incomplete/insufficient information and conflicting requirements. PLO 19. To use the algorithms of translational text analysis in practice. PLO 25.1. Possess the professional languages of Spanish, English and Ukrainian (law, technology, economy, media sphere, translational computer lexicography and terminology, etc.) and background knowledge of subject areas.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Prerequisites for mastering or choosing an academic discipline: 1) Spanish language proficiency not lower than B2; 2) knowledge of theoretical foundations: ability to perform linguistic analysis of the text; knowledge of the basic concepts of the genre system; mastery of the basics of oral and written translation; 3) prior successful mastering of the disciplines "Linguistic studies of Spanish-speaking countries", "Stylistics of the Spanish language", "Practice of written and oral translation", "Techniques of written and oral translation", parallel mastering of the course "Special and genre theories of translation", which provide comprehensive background knowledge, develop skills necessary for linguistic analysis of texts of various genres and their proper translation.
Course content
The aim of the discipline is to acquaint students with the main genres of media text and the peculiarities of their reproduction. The lectures examine the main media texts, including articles, interviews, reports, chronicles, editorials, columns, and advertisements, the peculiarities of their reproduction in translation, and the specifics of the work of a media text translator. During practical classes, students translate real media texts with appropriate translation commentary.

Assessment methods and criteria
Assessment methods: oral answers, oral translation, written translation, translation commentary. Evaluation criteria: the maximum number of points is 100: oral answers (LO 1, 2, 3, 4) - max. 15 points; oral translation (LO 2, 3) - max. 25 points; written translation (LO 1, 2, 3, 4, 5) - max. 25 points. translation commentary (LO 3) - max. 10 points. credit translation of media text (LO 1, 2, 3, 4, 5) - max. 25 points.
