Course content
The aim of the course is to teach the basics of consecutive interpreting techniques from Italian into Ukrainian and from Ukrainian into Italian, taking into account the communicative, linguistic and cognitive features of interlingual and intercultural communication in typical situations of bilateral interpreting. The most important interpreting techniques in the Italian/Ukrainian language pair are considered, and elements of crisis management in interpreting are introduced: calquing, hyperonymic translation, etc. The course also addresses the necessary intercultural adaptations in a bilateral interpreting situation, as well as the rational combination of interpreting shorthand with the use of long-term memory and memorization techniques.
