Learning outcomes
PLO 2. Work effectively with information: select the necessary information from various sources, critically analyse and interpret it, organise, classify and systematise. PLO 5. Cooperate with colleagues, representatives of other cultures and religions, supporters of different political views, etc. PLO 17. Use the first foreign language in oral and written form, in different genre and style varieties and registers of communication (formal, informal, neutral), to solve communicative problems in various spheres of life. PLO 28. Use knowledge of the history and culture of Ukraine and linguistic and cultural studies of the languages studied for the organisation of successful communication and adequate translation.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
The educational discipline is one of the key components of the comprehensive training of bachelors and is based on a cycle of disciplines of professional, theoretical and practical training, in particular "Introduction to translation studies", "Practical course of the Italian language", "Practice of written and oral translation". The student must master these disciplines and be able to communicate in Italian; know basic linguistic concepts; principles of language material analysis; peculiarities of semantics, structure and functioning of units of all levels of the Italian language; and be able to apply linguistic tools in practice; to have the skills of information selection, selection, analysis and interpretation of speech facts, communication on linguistic topics.
Course content
The program of the academic discipline consists of three content modules.
The first is devoted to the study of basic information about Italy, its history (brief overview), physical geography, state and administrative system, politics. During the second module, students learn about Italian science, literature, music, cinema and theater. The third module is dedicated to the customs and traditions of Italians, Italian holidays.
After each lecture session, a seminar is held, during which students make presentations. Preparation of presentations on the topics of lectures and seminars reveals the ability to creatively interpret the referenced literature, find empirical material for research, analyze the issues and present its results in written form. The course ends with an oral exam.
The purpose of studying the discipline "Linguistic studies of Italian-speaking countries" is the study of Italy in a complex linguistic-scientific dimension; assimilation of specific layers of Italian vocabulary in the country studies aspect.

Assessment methods and criteria
The material of lecture classes on relevant topics is fixed in practical classes, its assimilation is assessed in practical classes, in accordance with clause 7.1 of the program. The discipline ends with an exam. The final grade is formed by the points obtained by the student in the process of performing the indicated types and forms of education and obtained on the exam. The maximum distribution is carried out as follows: 60 points - during the semester and 40 points (20%) - the exam.
If a student scored less than 24 points on the exam, they are not added to the semester grade, regardless of the number of points received during the semester, and only the number of points received during the semester is indicated in the column "final grade in the discipline" in the examination report.
