Learning outcomes
PLO 1. Communicate freely on professional issues with experts and non-experts in Ukrainian, English and Italian languages, in oral and in written form, use these languages to organize effective cross-cultural communication. PLO 9. Characterize dialect and social varieties of Italian and English languages, describe the sociolinguistic situation. PLO 10. Know the rules of standard language and be able to apply them in practice. PLO 14. Use Italian language in oral and written form, in different genre-style varieties and registers of communication (formal, informal, neutral), for solving communicative tasks in everyday, public, educational, professional and academic spheres of life. PLO 17. Collect, analyze, systematize and interpret language and speech facts and use them to solve complex tasks and problems in specialized fields of professional activity and / or education.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful mastering of the disciplines "Practical Italian language course", "Introduction to translation studies", "Practice of written and oral translation (Italian language)", "Language resource stylistics (Ukrainian language)", "Stylistic text analysis (Ukrainian language)".
Course content
The goal of the discipline is the further development and improvement of theoretical knowledge and practical skills in Italian (the first foreign language), which is a mandatory component of the work of a future translator.
Abstract. The practice of the Italian language is the basis for the further successful training of future translators and an integral part of the professional baggage, without which it is impossible to master other training disciplines. This course is a discipline that is designed to prepare students to master other compulsory disciplines and special courses, and prepares future translators to solve more serious problems of philology and translation in various fields, which are developed and deepened in further courses.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Systematic improvement of skills and abilities in phonetics, prosody, grammar, vocabulary of the modern Italian language. Development and improvement of abilities and skills of reading, listening, speaking and writing.
Assessment methods and criteria
Methods: Practical classes, independent work.
Throughout the semester, practical classes on relevant topics are evaluated in accordance with the types of work and the form of control described in clause 7.1 of the RPND. The discipline ends with a test. The semester final grade is formed by the points obtained by the student in the process of performing the indicated types and forms of study and obtained on the test.
The final grade from the educational component, which is the final form of control by which credit is established, is defined as the sum of grades (points) for all successfully assessed learning outcomes.
- The maximum number of points for the test: 25 points;
Conditions for admission to the final assessment:
- Students who have scored a total of less points than the critical calculation minimum (45 points) are not allowed to take the test.
