PLO 1. Сommunicate freely on professional issues with experts and non-experts in Ukrainian, Spanish and English, in oral and in written form, use these languages to ensure effective cross-cultural communication. PLO 11. Know the principles, technologies and techniques necessary to produce oral and written texts of different genres and styles in Ukrainian, Spanish and English.PLO 14. Use Spanish and English in oral and written form, in different genre-stylistic varieties and registers of communication (official, unofficial, neutral), to solve communicative tasks in everyday, social, educational, professional, scientific spheres of life. PLO 21. Interpret, abstract, annotate and adequately translate (from Spanish, English and Ukrainian) oral and written texts of various styles and genres, except highly specialized ones. And also PLO 8, 9, 23, 24.

Full-time form

Successful mastery of the discipline "Introduction to Linguistics" in the first semester. Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of English grammar and proficiency in English at the "basic user" level.

The purpose of the discipline is to deepen students' practical knowledge in phonetics, vocabulary, and grammar of the English language; to get acquainted with the ways of rendering the meanings of lingual units of the source language in the target language on the basis of in-depth knowledge of English in all its aspects; to deepen the linguistic and linguo-cultural erudition of students.

Practical classes, individual work

The semester number of points is formed by the points obtained by the student in the process of mastering the material on all topics of the course and performing independent tasks and group work described in clause 7.1. of the Program of the discipline (answers in practical classes; written test (phonemic dictation, dictation-translation, etc.); individual creative work (essay, presentation); blitz quizzes (active vocabulary, sentence translation, retelling a fragment of an oral topic, etc.); tests). A student can score a max. of 60 points for work during the semester. The final assessment is conducted in the form of an exam. The max. number of points at the exam is 40 points, the min. number of points that are added to the semester points is 24 points. Structure of the exam paper: 1. Phonemic dictation of 30 words and dictation of a text in English (800 char.); 2. Performing a grammar task; 3. Disclosure of an oral topic using active vocabulary.
