PLO 21. Interpret, abstract, annotate and adequately translate (from French and Ukrainian) oral and written texts of various styles and genres, except for highly specialized ones. PLO 25. Demonstrate skills in the use of innovative technologies and various translation resources and translation automation tools. PLO 26. Provide stylistic revision of Ukrainian-language texts. PLO 27.2. Speak professional languages. PLO 28.2. Demonstrate the ability to perform written and oral specialized translation from French and English into Ukrainian and vice versa.

Full-time form

Before studying this course, students should have the skills of translation from French, as well as know the basic linguistic concepts, the basics of communication theory, the peculiarities of semantics, structure and functioning of units of all levels of the French language, the importance of language subsystems for developing the ability to analyze language units, determine their interaction and characterize linguistic phenomena and processes that determine them; be able to apply linguistic tools in practice, use reference literature, create oral and written texts in the state and foreign languages, as well as carry out lexical, grammatical and stylistic analysis of the text of translation of non-specialized texts from a foreign language into Ukrainian

The aim of the discipline is to develop theoretical knowledge and practical skills in translating modern scientific and technical texts from French into Ukrainian and from Ukrainian into French, which is an essential component of the work of a future translator.

The maximum number of points during the semester is 100 points. In particular, semester assessment by forms of control: 1. Oral answer - max. 25 points 2. addition to answer - max. 20 points 3. Control of homework and tasks for self study assignments - max .25 points 5. Control work - max. 15 points
