Prerequisites and co-requisites
Before starting this course, the student must successfully master the following academic disciplines: Introduction to Linguistics, Practical French Language Course, Translation from native language to first foreign language, Translation of modern social and political texts, Translation in business communication, Practice of Interpretation and Translation. Know the system and norms of the French language; the main categories of translation and the general principles of interpretation and translation. Be able to communicate in French; to speak French at a level not lower than B2 and Ukrainian – C1.
Course content
The training ensures the preparation of students for the implementation of professional translation activities in the interpreting industry. The discipline familiarizes students with the main types of interpretation and basic principles of note taking, the specifics of bilateral consecutive interpreting and the peculiarities of its implementation in various translation formats, improves general translation skills and abilities. Students develop a comprehensive system of knowledge regarding the communicative-pragmatic and cognitive-semantic parameters of consecutive translation, its temporal, technical, and genre features, as well as understanding the need to master the technology of translating note taking for constant improvement of translation.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Training Activities Throughout the Semester: 1. Oral response, blitz survey. 2. Written tasks (resume, works). 3. Interpreting studies. 4. Tests. 5. Translation note taking exercises. Teaching methods - interactive, analysis and synthesis, multimedia, structural, ludic, creative-heuristic.
Assessment methods and criteria
The maximum number of points during the semester is 100 points. In particular, semester evaluation by forms of control: - oral answers, blitz survey - max. 15 points; - written tasks (essays, works) - max. 15 points; - preparation and defense of the presentation - max. 10 points; - modular control: test + translation - max. 20 points; Final assessment – written and oral exam: max. - 40 points.
