Learning outcomes
PLO10. To know the norms of the literary language and be able to apply them in practice. PLO11. To know the principles, technologies and methods of creating oral and written texts of various genres and styles in the state, Vietnamese and French languages. PLO12. Analyze linguistic units, determine their interaction and characterize linguistic phenomena and processes that determine them. PLO14. To use Vietnamese and French in oral and written form, in different genre-style varieties and registers of communication (official, informal, neutral), to solve communicative problems in everyday, social, educational, professional, scientific spheres of life.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1) successful completion of the courses "Oriental Language: Basic Level", "Oriental Language: Intermediate Level", "Oriental Language: Advanced Level"; 2) knowledge of the theoretical foundations of philological science (linguistics and literary studies); 3) mastery of the skills of theoretical analysis of the material being studied.
Course content
The aim of the discipline is to ensure that students acquire a functional level of knowledge of the Vietnamese language, as well as to develop skills and competencies in the practical use of lexical and grammatical units of the language being studied. In practice, basic knowledge of the modern Vietnamese language is acquired and systematized at the functional level. The following main issues are considered: 1) studying the peculiarities of using basic lexical items on given topics; 2) consideration and study of grammatical categories and constructions for building complex sentences in modern Vietnamese, etc. The discipline "Oriental Language: Functional Level" (Part 4) is one of the compulsory components of the complex discipline "Practical Course in the First Oriental Language".

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The course provides for the following forms of learning organization: practical classes conducted using interactive teaching methods and individual work. The main types of work and, accordingly, the objects of semester control are: writing lexical dictations, writing essays, listening, speaking (disclosure of an oral topic), answering a practical lesson, and a test with open answers. The details of the planned educational activities and teaching methods are presented in the discipline's work program, published on the official website of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Philology.
Assessment methods and criteria
Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for a two-level assessment of the material learned, including theoretical training, which accounts for 40% of the total grade, and practical training, which accounts for 60% of the total grade. The number of semester points is formed by the points received by the student for classroom work and for individual work; in total: in the maximum dimension 60 points, in the minimum dimension 36 points. Final assessment: exam. The exam is conducted in the form of written work: 2 practical translation tasks, each of which is worth a maximum of 10 points; 1 practical task with an open-ended answer, which is worth a maximum of 20 points. The criteria for semester assessment and the criteria for exam assessment are presented in the discipline's work program published on the official website of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Philology.
