Learning outcomes
PLO 3 Organize the process of learning and self-education. PLO 7 Understand the main issues of philology and approaches to their solution using appropriate methods and innovative approaches. PLO 15 Carry out linguistic and literary analysis of the texts of various styles and genres. PLO 16 Know and understand the basic concepts and theories of the chosen philological specialization, be able to apply them in professional activity. PLO 21.1 To know the theory of literature as a branch of literary studies that clarifies the specifics of literature as a form of art, reveals the ways and means of penetrating the content of each specific work of art, and provides an opportunity to understand the specifics of the literary process through the existence of such typical structures as genre, genre, and style.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Before starting this course, students should know the main directions of modern literary studies; the connection of literary studies with other humanitarian disciplines; to have basic factual knowledge of a humanitarian nature.
Course content
The purpose of teaching the discipline is to provide students with a set of theoretical and practical knowledge necessary for mastering modern methods of analyzing literary works, developing systematic principles and means of analytical thinking, and the ability to understand and interpret the text of an artistic work. Abstract: The discipline is aimed at critical reading of artistic texts, application of principles and methods of analysis of the work as a phenomenon of literature. During the study of the discipline, students apply the methodology of literary research in practice, learn the aesthetic nature of the word, and improve the technology of text decoding.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Methods: practical classes, independent work, analytical work with primary sources. Activities: oral answer, heuristic conversation, participation in the discussion, creative project, creative task, abstract task, task of final control for the exam.
Assessment methods and criteria
The final control form is an exam. According to the types of works, a student can score the following number of points: oral answer, heuristic conversation – 1-5 participation in a discussion – 1-8 creative project – 1-10 creative tasks (essay, review) – 1-12 abstract tasks – 1-12. The exam grade is formed as the sum of all the points scored during the semester and the written exam: 0-59 - failed, 60-100 - passed the exam.
