Learning outcomes
PLO 3 Organize the process of learning and self-education. PLO 13 Analyze and interpret Ukrainian and foreign fiction and folklore, define their specificity and place in literature process (according to the selected specialization). PLO 15 Carry out linguistic and literary analysis of the texts of various styles and genres. PLO 22.1 To determine the specificity of literature as one of the types of art, taking into account its gender-genre division into prose and poetry; apply the methodology of receptive poetics and hermeneutics to analyze a work of art; PLO 24.1 Use the tools of comparative literature to analyze the literary process, modern fiction, its national specificity and artistic features.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
The students should master the courses "History of Ukrainian Literature," "History of Foreign Literature," and "Introduction to Literary Studies."; they should be able to formulate their own opinions and judgments based on theoretical knowledge of the history of Ukrainian and foreign literature; analyze genre-stylistic features of works; highlight the problematic and thematic features of the literary movement; systematize literary facts and phenomena, give them an objective assessment; independently analyze and research specific aspects of the literary process.
Course content
The program aims to reveal the system of creative principles of literary phenomena in the fullness of content and form, in connection with the action of various factors (literary-typological, psychological-typological) at different levels of the work of art, in broad intercultural contexts; to show the prospects and possibilities of comparative-typological studies in the ordering of the phenomena of the history of literature (genres, trends, movements, periods, etc.).
To this end, the program provides acquaintance with the conceptual and methodological planes of the phenomena being compared (genetic-contact and typological approaches, the main factors of external and internal contacts, translation as a phenomenon of the recipient literature, methods of comparative study (similarities, analogies, differences), the ability to create comparable contexts that expand and deepen the field of study.
Studies in comparative poetics involve a close connection with other courses, especially in modeling the levels of works of art ("codes" - according to other works), which lead the researcher into the sphere of other arts and branches of knowledge and provide for interdisciplinary work.

Assessment methods and criteria
Answers at seminar classes (34 points), essays (10 points), and creative task (16 points) are evaluated during the semester.
The final evaluation is carried out in the form of a comprehensive exam: the maximum number of points in the exam is 40 points, and the minimum number of points (positive mark), which are added to the semester - is 24 points (60% of the maximum number of points allocated for the exam). The exam assesses the following learning outcomes: LO 1.1, LO 1.2, LO 1.3; LO 2.1, LO 2.2, LO 2.3, LO 2.6; LO 3.2; LO 4.1, LO 4.2, LO 4.3.
The exam is in the form of written work, and the exam paper consists of two tasks: theoretical question (50%); practical question (analysis of a work of art) (50%); each question is evaluated with a maximum of 20 points.
