Learning outcomes
PLO 3 Organize the process of learning and self-education. PLO 7 Understand the main issues of philology and approaches to their solution using appropriate methods and innovative approaches. PLO 15 Carry out linguistic and literary analysis of the texts of various styles and genres. PLO 16 Know and understand the basic concepts and theories of the chosen philological specialization, be able to apply them in professional activity. PLO 22.2 Know the principles of creativity process and writing texts of different genres, as well as understand concepts and laws of the book market, principles of literary works analysis, their critical assessment.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Before starting this course, students should know the main directions of modern literary studies; the connection of literary studies with other humanitarian disciplines; to have basic knowledge of humanitarian nature.
Course content
The course is aimed at providing students with a set of theoretical and practical knowledge necessary for mastering modern methods of analyzing literary works, developing systemic principles and means of analytical thinking, a general idea of the directions of modern literary studies, various methodological systems, interpretive approaches that allow to clarify the essence of artistic the work. The subject of the study is the technique and methodology of modern analysis of literary works.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Educational activities: oral answer, heuristic conversation, participation in a discussion, creative project, creative task, abstract task, analytical work with primary sources, task of final control for the exam. Teaching methods: lecture, seminars, independent work.
Assessment methods and criteria
The final assessment is through an exam. According to the types of works, the student can score the following number of points: oral answer and heuristic conversation - 1-5, participation in the discussion - 2 - 0.5, creative project - 1-10, creative task (essay, review) - 1-12, abstract task - 1-10, and tasks of the final control - 1-40. The exam grade is formed as the sum of all points scored during the semester and the written exam: 0-59 - failed, 60-100 - passed the exam.
