PLO 1 Communicate fluently in English on professional issues with specialists and non-specialists, use English for the organization of effective intercultural communication. PLO 2 Work effectively with information: select necessary information from various sources, in particular from professional literature and electronic bases, critically analyze, interpret, organize, classify and systematize it. PLO 8 Know and understand the language system, general characteristics of literature as the art of words, history of the Ukrainian language and literature, and be able to apply this knowledge in the professional activity. PLO 10 Know language norms and be able to apply them in practical activity. PLO 12 Analyze language units, determine their interaction and characterize linguistic phenomena and the processes that cause them.

Full-time form

Before the course, students should be familiar with the entire scope of material outlined in the course program "Modern Ukrainian Language: Lexicology. Phraseology. Phonetics. Phonology. Morphology. Word Formation". They should also have a theoretical understanding of general linguistics. Students should be able to perceive and analyze information related to basic linguistic concepts, identify relevant and reliable material in the information field, apply interactive and multimedia tools, and use their previously acquired knowledge and skills to categorize words by parts of speech and describe their paradigms. Additionally, they should possess elementary skills in scientific research and working with information on internet resources, critical thinking skills when analyzing phenomena, the use of specialized sources, the methodology of phonemic transcription of word forms, word-formation, and morphemic analysis, as well as skills in semantic and semasiological analysis of words.

The aim of the discipline is to cultivate students' systematically organized knowledge of basic and problematic concepts of traditional morphology and paradigmatics. It involves providing students with an in-depth understanding of the theoretical foundations and terminological apparatus of grammar, and developing their skills to apply acquired knowledge in the process of morphological analysis of words and the independent analysis of word paradigms. The subject of the course is the study of the nature and essence of the word, focusing on its grammatical meanings at various levels of generalization, as well as word inflection in paradigmatic and syntagmatic aspects. The course is divided into three parts: 1. Basic concepts of paradigmatics. 2. Noun parts of speech. 3. Verb. Adverb. Functional parts of speech.

Educational activities throughout the semester include: Assignments completed by students during independent work. Participation in seminar discussions. Involvement in discussions. Taking tests. Writing a control (assessment) paper. Methods used in teaching: lecture, practical exercises, and independent work.

Semester assessment: The overall grade for the semester is composed of points earned for in-class and independent work (max/min): homework, oral responses during seminars – 14/7 points; participation in discussions – 6/3 points; written tests – 50/30 points; individual homework assignment – 10/6 points; written final test – 20/14 points. The maximum total score is 100 points; the minimum total score is 60 points. • Final assessment: Pass. The pass is awarded based on the student's performance throughout the semester (both online and offline modes) and does not involve additional assessment measures. Students, who accumulate a total of less than 60 points during the semester, need to review the material on specific topics, complete independent homework, or, if necessary, take a test.
