Learning outcomes
PLO 3 Organize the process of learning and self-education. PLO 7 Understand the main issues of philology and approaches to their solution using appropriate methods and innovative approaches. PLO 8 Know and understand the language system, general characteristics of literature as the art of words, history of the Ukrainian language and literature, and be able to apply this knowledge in the professional activity. PLO 15 Carry out linguistic and literary analysis of the texts of various styles and genres. PLO 19 Have the skills to participate in theoretical and/or applied studies in the field of philology.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Before starting this course, students should possess know fundamental characteristics of manuscript and printed texts as a form of human activity, as well as an understanding of how literature functions in its historical development.
Course content
The aim of the academic discipline is to cultivate students' understanding of the fundamental textological categories, proficiency in the terminological apparatus, theoretical structure, and contemporary methodological foundations of textology. The subject matter of the academic discipline encompasses a body of manuscript and printed texts, along with the peculiarities of the artist's creative work.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Educational activities: oral responses, heuristic discussions, active participation in debates, creative projects, assignments, analytical tasks involving primary sources, and tasks for the final assessment during the credit. Teaching methods: lectures, seminar sessions, and independent work.
Assessment methods and criteria
The form of the final assessment is a credit. Depending on the type of tasks, a student can earn the following number of points: oral response, heuristic discussion – 1-8; participation in a discussion – 1-8; creative project – 1-12; creative assignment (essay, review) – 1-12; reference task – 1-12; final assessment task – 1-30. The credit grade is determined by the total points accumulated throughout the semester. The grading scale is as follows: "Passed" – 60-100, "Failed" – 0-59.
