PLO 3. Create logically and structurally organized texts on ethnocultural studies, according to the specialization.
PLO 14. To conduct a public discussion and maintain a dialogue on Ukrainian culture with specialists and non-specialists.
PLO 15. Communicate freely on professional issues orally and in writing in the state and foreign languages, taking into account the purpose of communication and the socio-cultural characteristics of its context

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Prerequisites:
1. To know:
- features of the English language as a system;
- the morphological organization of modern English;
- the syntactic organization of modern English, i.e., the structure of simple sentences.
2. To be able to:
- produce prepared or unprepared monologue and dialogue that summarize and/or supplement the content of the input;
- apply effective learning strategies in reading and listening;
- express opinion concerning the input, provide arguments; compare and contrast opinions, etc.;
- use grammatical structures in speech situations of everyday and academic communication;
- to reproduce grammatical phenomena in educational translation at the discourse level.
Course content
The Foreign Language. The Practical Course is the first part of a complex discipline, which provides the process of preparing bachelors for the educational program “Ethnocultural Studies with advanced study of a foreign language.”
The discipline is designed to improve the socio-cultural, professional and cognitive competencies of future ethnoculturalists. A goal of the discipline is to develop students’ speaking and writing skills to be able to apply them in professional communication and in everyday life. A distinctive feature of the discipline is integrated learning with the consistent improvement of productive and receptive skills, namely: listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
The purpose of the discipline is to improve the socio-cultural, speaking, and professional competencies of students and increase the effectiveness of communication in English.

Forms of work: practical classes, independent work, work in groups, work in pairs.
Methods: lecture, independent work, discussion, project technologies, interactive technologies, "portfolio" technology.
Assessment methods and criteria
The final evaluation tool in the second semester is an exam: the maximum score on the exam is 40, the minimum is 24. The student is admitted to the final assessment if he hands in all assignments, 4 module tests, receiving at least 40 points. At the exam, the student scores 40 points: a test task (30) and an oral report on a suggested topic (10).
