Learning outcomes
PLO 2. Analyze, comment, generalize, scientific and analytical texts of an ethnocultural nature.
PLO 4. Know and understand theoretical approaches to the definition of culture, its manifestations and forms of existence.
PLO 7. To understand the factors of ethnocultural dynamics, principles of periodization of ethnocultural processes, their specific features and characteristics.
PLO 10. Recognize and classify different types of ethno-cultural products, determine their quality characteristics based on comprehensive analysis.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Before starting the study of this discipline, students must
Know: the main characteristics of mythology as a science of myths and mythological consciousness; the connection of mythology with other humanities, primarily folkloristics; to have basic factual knowledge of a humanitarian nature.
Be able to work with various sources of educational and scientific information, process it, make generalizations and conclusions; collect and interpret information about the features of mythology; apply basic concepts in the analysis of mythological phenomena; plan and evaluate own work; use interactive and multimedia tools.
Possess elementary skills of scientific research, search and processing of educational and scientific information; use of professional informative sources, including foreign language ones;
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to give students an understanding of myth as one of the central phenomena of culture, to explain the necessary amount of knowledge on the theory of mythology, to highlight the mythological aspects of Ukrainian national folklore based on them, to show the transformation of mythological beliefs in the process of the historical development of Ukrainian oral literature and ritual complexes, examples of the use of elements polytheistic and Christian mythology in modern myth-making. To reveal the national peculiarities of the mythological picture of the world of Ukrainians and the varieties of its implementation in culture.
The subject of curse "Mythology" is the study of mythology as a whole multi-level system of myth texts, mythological ideas and beliefs accumulated by different ethnic groups.
The course consists of three content modules.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Forms of education: lecture, seminar, independent work. Throughout the semester, after lectures on relevant topics, seminar classes are used, which exhaust the assessment according to the types of work (oral answer, preparation of problematic questions for discussion, participation in discussion, preparation of tests, presentation, control work). The discipline ends with an exam.
Assessment methods and criteria
The overall grade for the semester consists of points received for classroom work (oral answers, participation in discussions), independent creative work (presentation) and two control papers in the form of tests. All types of work for the semester have as a result:
● in the maximum dimension of 60 points,
● a minimum of 36 points.
The final assessment is conducted in the form of an exam:
• the maximum number of points on the exam is 40 points, the minimum number of points (positive grade) that are added to semester grades is 24 points (60% of the maximum number of points assigned to the exam);
• the exam is conducted in the form of a written test: 40 questions of closed and open form, which are evaluated at 1 point.
