PLO 5. To collect, organize and analyze information on the cultural phenomena, events, historical and cultural processes. PLO 7. To understand the factors of ethnocultural dynamics, the principles of periodization of the ethnocultural processes, their specific features and characteristics. PLO 10. To recognize and classify the different types of the ethnocultural products, determine their qualitative characteristics, based on comprehensive analysis.

Full-time form

Before studying the discipline the student should: know the basic information about Ukrainian traditional culture; be able to identify the samples of the texts of traditional culture; have the basic skills of abstracting a scientific text.

The purpose of the discipline is to acquaint the 1st-year students with Ukrainian traditional ritual culture, where the ritual is an actional component of a coherent syncretic text of folk culture. The discipline is structured in view of its complex nature: the ritual text of culture is studied in the combination with the verbal, visual, musical and subject subtexts. Annotation. The discipline is a component of the complex educational discipline, where Part 1 is devoted to the study of calendar festive culture as a syncretic intertextual phenomenon. The object of the discipline is the texts of traditional culture, which broadcast festive (sacred) tradition of the various regions of Ukrainian lands in its historical development, and the subject is a comprehensive study of the ancient ritual forms, their genesis and reflection in the modern cultural space. Special importance is given to the problem of expression of the cult of the ancestors in folk calendar culture.

The course includes 2 content parts. The first part is devoted to the study of the theory of cultural studies and the history of the edition of cultural practices, the second one is devoted to the study of the festive tradition of the calendar year circle. The classes are held in the form of the lectures and seminars, which are evaluated according to the types of the work and the forms of the control. The discipline ends with a test. The students who scored a total of less than the critical-calculated minimum – 48 points, are not allowed to write the test. The students who have not reached the grade point average during the semester, must complete the missed topics in writing and submit / send them by e-mail to the teacher, conducting the seminars.

Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides two-level assessment of the learned material, assessment of theoretical training - learning outcomes (knowledge) – 40% of the total mark, and assessment of practical training – learning outcomes (skills, communication, autonomy and responsibility) – 60% of the total mark. Assessment of the semester work: oral answer at the seminar – 3/2 points, doing the creative task – 4/2 points, writing two tests – 20/11 points. The general mark for the semester consists of the points obtained for the classroom work, which also synthesizes independent work on studying theoretical material in order to prepare for the classroom work. All the types of the work for the semester have a total of 80/48 points. The discipline ends with an exam in the form of a written test (20 / 12 points).
