Learning outcomes
PLO 1. Freely communicate on professional issues with specialists and non-specialists in the state and foreign languages orally and in writing, use them to organize effective intercultural communication. PLO 8. Know and understand the system of language, the general properties of literature as the art of the word, the history of languages and literature being studied, and be able to apply this knowledge in professional activities. PLO 11. Know the principles, technologies and techniques for creating oral and written texts of various genres and styles in state and foreign (foreign) languages. PLO 12. Analyze language units, determine their interaction and characterize speech phenomena and processes that cause them. PLO 14. Use the languages studied orally and in writing, in various genre-style varieties and registers of communication (official, unofficial, neutral), to solve communicative problems in the everyday, social, educational, professional, scientific spheres of life.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Before starting the study of this discipline, students should know the historical development of the science of folkloristics, the main schools, trends and approaches , the formation and development of folkloristics studies as an interdisciplinary field of knowledge. Be able to work with various sources of educational and scientific information, process it, make generalizations and conclusions. Possess basic skills of scientific research; search and processing of educational and scientific information.
Course content
The Aim of the Discipline: to form a holistic understanding of the modern scientific discourse regarding the problems of modern folkloristics. Annotation. the multy-semestrial academic discipline“a foreign language” is focused on the formation of foreign-language communicative competence at the level B2 – B2+ in accordance with the Common European Recommendations on Language Education (2003) to ensure effective communication of future specialists in various situations of social, educational, academic and professional communication. . This course is a mandatory component of the educational and professional training program for specialists at the educational qualification level “bachelor”, the field of knowledge 03 “Humanities”, specialty 035.09 Philology (OP “Folkloristics with in-depth study of a foreign language").

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
During the semester, practical classes are held on the relevant topics, then the assessment is carried out in accordance with the types of work and forms of control described in educational program. Communicative teaching method is used.
Assessment methods and criteria
Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides a two-level assessment of the learned material and theoretical training outcomes (knowledge) which makes 40% of the total knowledge and assessment of practical training - learning outcomes (skills, communication, autonomy and responsibility - 60% of the total assessment.) The overall semester grade consists of points received for classroom work (which sums up as well individual work, the study and preparation of theoretical material for the classroom workout: oral answers, module assessment works, etc ) .Same for the individual work assessment (lessons preparation).
