Prerequisites and co-requisites
Before studying the discipline the student should: know the basic information about Ukrainian folklore; be able to identify the samples of the oral text and distinguish its functions; have the basic skills of abstracting a scientific text.
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is a systematic vision of the students of the origins, evolution and poetic specifics of the product of ethnic creativity, understanding its artistic identity and multifunctional links with the humanities. The educational material of the discipline is the folk poetic texts of the canonical genres of folklore, as well as the non-verbal texts of the ceremonial folk culture, which constitute the syncretic integrity of the folklore phenomenon. Annotation. The discipline is a component of the complex educational discipline, where Part 1 is devoted to the study of ritual folklore as a syncretic intertextual phenomenon. The object of the discipline is the ritual texts that present the festive (sacred) tradition of the different regions of the Ukrainian lands in its historical development.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The course includes 2 content parts The first part is devoted to the study of maternity folklore, the second is devoted to the study of wedding folklore and the third part is devoted to the funeral folklore text as a holistic combination of the verbal, actional and material subtexts. The classes are held in the form of the lectures and seminars, which are evaluated according to the types of the work and the forms of the control. The discipline ends with an exam. The students who scored a total of less than the critical-calculated minimum - 36 points, are not allowed to write the test. The students who have not reached the grade point average (36 points) during the semester, must complete the missed topics in writing and submit / send them by e-mail to the teacher, conducting the seminars. The maximum score for the additional forms of assessment may not exceed 40% of the final mark (up to 40 points on a 100-point scale).
Assessment methods and criteria
Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides two-level assessment of the learned material, assessment of theoretical training - learning outcomes (knowledge) – 40% of the total mark, and assessment of practical training – learning outcomes (skills, communication, autonomy and responsibility) – 60% of the total mark. Assessment of the semester work: oral answer at the seminar – 2/1 points, doing three creative tasks – 10/7 points, writing two tests – 20/13 points. The general mark for the semester consists of the points obtained for the classroom work, which also synthesizes independent work on studying theoretical material in order to prepare for the classroom work. All the types of the work for the semester have a total of 60/36 points. The discipline ends with an exam in the form of a written test (40 / 24 points). * The sum of the points received by the students has a coefficient of 2.
