Learning outcomes
PLO 1. Communicate freely on professional issues with experts and non- experts in Ukrainian, German and English, in oral and in written form, use these languages to organize effective cross-cultural communication. PLO 9. Characterize dialect and social varieties of German language, describe the sociolinguistic situation. PLO 10. Know the rules of standard language and be able to apply them in practice. PLO 11. Know the principles, technologies and techniques of oral and written texts of different genres and styles creation in Ukrainian, German and English. PLO 14. Use German and English in oral and written form, in different genre-stylistic varieties and registers of communication (official, unofficial, neutral), to solve communicative tasks in everyday, social, educational, professional, scientific spheres of life. PLO 27.1. Demonstrate proficiency in contemporary variants and registers of the German language.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
To possess the lexical and grammatical minimum in the German language within the topics outlined in the programs for the 1st-3rd years of the Bachelor's degree program in "Translation from German and English," to have a grasp of the fundamental concepts of the categorical-conceptual apparatus of intercultural communication and translation studies, to have developed language proficiency, general knowledge, and a general understanding of phonetic, morphological, lexical, syntactic, and stylistic norms in both the source and target languages.
Course content
The discipline "German Language in Intercultural Communication" is a practical discipline that involves studying the peculiarities of intercultural communication, cultural dialogue as a form of intercultural communication, and the specific characteristics of intercultural relations in the contemporary stage of social development. Additionally, mastering this discipline contributes to the development of intercultural, mediated linguistic, and translation competences, in line with the needs of intercultural communication and professional training in the field.

Assessment methods and criteria
Continuous assessment: oral response, presentation defense, testing, project translation, final control work. Final assessment - examination. Assessment criteria for each form of assessment are provided in the working program of the discipline.
