Learning outcomes
PLO 14. Use German and English in oral and written form, in different genre-stylistic varieties and registers of communication (official, unofficial, neutral), to solve communicative tasks in everyday, social, educational, professional, scientific spheres of life. PLO 15. Perform linguistic, literary and translation analysis of texts of different styles and genres. PLO 16. Know and understand the basic theories and concepts of the chosen philological specialization, be able to apply them in professional activities. PLO 21. Interpret, summarize, annotate, and adequately translate oral and written texts of various styles and genres from German, English, and Ukrainian languages, excluding highly specialized texts.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful completion of the courses: "Practical Course of the First Language," "Introduction to Translation Studies," and "Practice of Written and Oral Translation" (Parts 1 and 2). 2. Knowledge of theoretical and practical foundations of translation studies as expected from students who have completed the 3rd year. 3. Proficiency in German at the B2 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, along with corresponding language skills for translation from German to Ukrainian and from Ukrainian to German, in line with the level-specific language education standards.
Course content
The discipline is one of the fundamental specialized subjects in the training of professionals in written and oral translation. It aims to develop students' essential skills in written and oral translation between German as a foreign language and their native language. The content of the proposed sections of the discipline is adapted to the student audience. The discipline is aimed at equipping students with a system of general theoretical knowledge and specific principles for the adequate reproduction of linguistic units, ranging from words, word combinations, idioms, structurally free collocations, various types of sentences, and texts. This academic discipline is part of the curriculum for the specialization of "German Languages and Literatures (including translation)."

Assessment methods and criteria
Continuous assessment includes evaluation of responses during practical classes, analytical presentations, written translation assessments, and oral translation assessments. The final assessment is conducted through an exam. The criteria for assessment for each form of evaluation are outlined in the syllabus of the course.
